      <image:caption>REDFERN SEMI - MID CONSTRUCTION A semi-original “L” shaped Victorian terrace was internally re-configured to connect to the existing rear courtyard. With Northern orientation importance was given to pulling natural light through each space. The existing kitchen and internal bedroom were combined into an open plan living and eat in kitchen. Whilst a predominately blank external wall was punctured with steel doors, allowing the living space to connect directly to the existing courtyard. Textural external materials were used to juxtaposition the interiors crisp monochromatic palette, creating a sense of depth and simplicity within a small footprint. The subdue palette was an exercise in restraint to ensure a sense of openness and volume within a compact plan.
